Reflection, 3rd Trimester 2021
This trimester of Publications was a great welcome into the program. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know everyone and working in a group that really wants to see everyone grow. At the beginning, I was nervous that I would not be able to keep up with the fast paced nature of Publications, but after this trimester, I feel ready to take on big projects like the yearbook and senior mag next year. I am also beyond excited to take on the role of Assistant Editor alongside one of my closest friends. As actual publication material goes I would like to help cultivate the yearbook theme as well as take more pictures. I would also like to write an extensive article that takes lots of hard work to create. I think these things would aid my growth in design and other aspects of journalism greatly!
Reflection, 1st Trimester 2021
This trimester has been a huge change. I hit the ground running with lots of spreads during the summer and even more during school. I got to design lots of spreads and take SO many pictures that I'm really proud of. I was less nervous about the workload this time around, and I think it increased in a healthy and productive way. I can't wait to tackle more spreads this winter and take some amazing pictures of winter sports. I think I really grew as a photographer and solidified my skillset as a designer in Walsworth, and I'm so excited for the adventures of second trimester.
Reflection, 2nd Trimester 2022
WOW! It feels like so long ago I started my first spread in the yearbook, and now we are so close to being done. I think I focused less on pictures this time and more on design, and I am glad I had that balance. I think I can work on being more hands on and "assertive" so to speak in terms of getting pictures and quotes. I think I have increased my efficiency in a lot of areas and I can't wait to take on my LAST EVER TRIMESTER on pubs with lots of enthusiasm and hard work. Hopefully I can do more pictures this upcoming trimester because that is what I love to do most. Saving the best for last!
Reflection, 3rd Trimester 2022
Holy smokes! I cannot believe I'm writing my last reflection for this class!!! Time has flown by and I have learned more than I could ever imagine. This class has given me so much and I'm just so grateful that I got to take it! Seeing the yearbook and the senior mag take shape over the year has been super cool and eye opening to a professional experience, and I will definitely carry that with me to college. This class has given me confidence and creativity as well as skill and I am so excited to use all this class has given me in the future. Everyone who has ever worked on staff with me- I love you all! I will miss the one-of-a-kind energy that I felt in this room. You all make me a better journalist! Did I say I love you yet? I love you! Thank you Pubs for being my favorite class for the past two years- I owe you a lot :)
